Julie & Khim's Highlights Film...

Julie & Khim were married on Christmas Eve, 2011. This is their next day edit - which was of course, edited on the next working day (being the 27th of December). It was then screened at their 2nd reception overseas.

It was a traditional Chinese wedding with the 'door games' in the morning followed by tea ceremonies and of course the 10 course reception meal!! There was limited formalities outside of the Chinese traditions (only 1 speech at the reception, no first dance), but it was a fun Christmas wedding.

Enjoy!!

Okay, so here is another wedding filmed at Belvoir Homestead in WA's Swan Valley!

Deb & Derree's Highlights Film

Sorry, it's been a long while between posting - so while I'm currently backing up my latest weddings....here is another highlights from this season...

Deb & Derree were married at Belvoir Homestead, and despite a rainy day which forced the ceremony inside, it was a great day & a lot of fun to be a part of their wedding. And to the guest who left in an ambulance after some dance 'moves', perhaps some new moves are in order for the next wedding you attend :)

Enjoy!

Ing Ing & Hideaki

As I sat down for coffee with Ing & Hideaki and chatted about their upcoming wedding - I knew it was going to be a great shoot, complete with a little skit devised by the groom himself :)

They tied the knot on September 10, 2011 at the All Saints College chapel, before celebrating into the night at Belvoir Homestead in the Swan Valley. They had a great time all day & it was an absolute pleasure to capture their memories!

They then had a second reception in Indonesia, where they screened this highlights clip that I put together for them.

Enjoy!

New Cameras & Our Latest Same Day Edit....

Wedding season began about 5 weeks ago for us & we have been enjoying shooting with our new crop of HD-DSLR cameras. These digital cinema cameras have improved the quality of our productions and although more difficult to shoot with than your traditional video camera, the extra work is worth it when you see the results!

So to kick things off for this season, we have Thomas & Anne's Same Day Edit for you to enjoy...

Thomas & Anne were married on October 2, 2011 at the Cottesloe Civic Centre, with the reception following at Burswood Resort. The weather forecast was for rain with a thunderstorm risk...so I was worried about the outdoor ceremony. There were dark clouds overhead during the traditional Chinese games in the morning, but by the time the ceremony began, the sun was shining & it was a beautiful day!

We screened this at the reception to the cheers & applause of more than 400 guests! Enjoy!

Cara & Matt | Highlights Film

After 12 years together, Cara & Matt tied the knot in Margaret River at the beautiful Laurance Estate Winery. Their friends & family traveled from all over the state - one guest even chartering a small plane in order to be there! It was clear that, not only were Cara & Matt very much in love, but they were surrounded by people who loved and cared about them.

Great couple + beautiful venue + wonderful people = A fantastic day!

I hope you enjoy their highlights film!

Wedding Cinematography Workshop | Melbourne

Last week I had the privilege of attending the wedding filmmakers event of the year - Exposed Down Under. This is a conference & workshop for those wedding cinematographers & editors who want to push the art of wedding filmmaking forward. I attended the first event in 2010 & was more than happy to spend the money the second time around - the investment I have made will make a huge difference for the couples' whose weddings I am yet to film :)

Four international speakers took the stage & gave us a lot of inspiration, education & determination to make the best wedding films possible. They were - Ray Roman of Ray Roman Films, Matt Davis of Life Stage Films, Jason Magbanua and Konrad Czystowski of Freshsox.
Backing up our international guests were some great Aussie filmmakers - Pieter De Vries, Abraham Joffe, Dave Cowling & Peter Szilveszter.

One of the most exciting elements of the conference is the 'Editors Challenge'. This year 20 competitors took part, with the challenge being to take approximately 1 hour of wedding footage (supplied by Konrad), and edit it into a short highlights-style clip in only 2 hours! Our international speakers then judged the clips, with everyone eager to win the major prize of a Canon 5Dmark2 Camera. And guess who won?

That's right - I did!!

It was a very humbling experience to have 4 of the worlds top wedding filmmakers judge my entry to be the best! And so you can see the clip for yourselves, here it is...

I look forward to using my new camera & applying all the knowledge gained from the conference to continue to provide my couples with the very best wedding film!
